Your Role
The Ocean Freight Specialist is responsible for the Ocean and pre-/on carriage transport management from ekaterra’s entities (factories, warehouses) to ekaterra’s customers overseas. This is an expert when it comes to ocean freight management within organization who ensures excellent day to day transport execution as well as works towards its optimization. This includes managing transportation orders via ekaterra’s 3rd party logistics suppliers with usage of cutting-edge IT tools for Supply Chain.
Your Key Responsibilities
Coordinate Ocean shipments with all parties involved (shippers, customers, customs brokers, transport providers).
Execute daily orders’ requirements to ensure top class customer service.
Track the status of the orders in IT tools and communicate issues, mitigate problems.
Respond to routine customer enquiries concerning service.
Identify and implement improvement opportunities on Cost, Service, Sustainability.
Maintain excellent relationship with internal and external partners.
Data collection and support of annual tenders.
Manage freight settlement and logistics quality claims.
Monitor supplier’s performance.
Key interfaces:
Engagement with internal teams supporting Supply Chain (O2C, Procurement, Logistics, Finance).
Reports to Global Control Tower Lead.
External:
3PL suppliers, freight carriers, customs brokers, Customers
Skills and Experience
ESSENTIAL
Education/ bachelor’s degree in Logistics or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year experience in similar positions in Logistics / Customer Service.
Proficiency in MS Office applications.
Willingness to work in line with various time zones.
PREFERRED
SAP TM experience
