Position Overview
This role is responsible for leading the Financial Accounting, Reporting and Control compliance for Bangladesh.
This position to hold responsibility and accountabilities for Bangladesh, covering the end-to-end processes of the service, continuous improvement, driving discipline across the 3 Tiers and driving Cost savings and Control projects within the scope, will also hold the responsibility of Lease Accounting [IFRS 16] SME for all markets in erstwhile South Asia cluster.
The position will lead directly the R2R team based out of Bangalore at 3PSP organization. He/ She will partner closely the Market key Finance stakeholders, mainly country controllers. He/she will work closely with the 3PSP service provider to ensure high quality service provided.
The role offers a unique opportunity to partner with the senior leaders of Unilever Finance, notable in-market Controllers, GCAD and various service-lines within ComEx as a whole.
Key Responsibilities
• Take overall responsibility of the end-to-end financial accounting reporting & control compliance for the countries serviced; Drive and motivate the team to perform at high levels of standards and to provide subject matter expertise for one or more country specific skills related to language or accounting knowledge by supervising the SME.
• Review consolidated weekly, monthly and annual financial statements and reports in accordance with Global- GCAD requirements.
• Provide subject matter expertise for specific local accounting operations for a country, within the overall context of the harmonized operating model.
• Ensures accounting rules are properly applied for both management and financial accounts in compliance with corporate standards.
• Take ownership as the steward of the Balance Sheet in accordance with IFRS.
• Add value and take on additional responsibility by actively participating in country meetings with non-Finance stakeholders to coordinate streamlining of processes across business operations with the SME.
• Coordinates the external audit with designated auditors of Unilever.
• Acts as internal consultant to satisfy stakeholder expectations and the primary SPOC to Market Finance Controller.
• A back up to other members within Market Operations team – RTR
Experiences & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree with 3 to 5 years of work experience in Financial Accounting & Reporting under GBS set up
• Strong Financial Accounting skills - IFRS knowledge
• External Auditor experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of key Finance processes in R2R area
• Experience in similar role in a shared service center or local accounting team.
• Key Skills: Effective communications both written and oral in English
• Ability to apply professional knowledge in accounting provisions, accounting principles, preparation, audit and disclosure requirements to make appropriate judgments and recommend solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret problems / data gathered from a variety of sources.
