Job Title: Oral Care Future Chassis Leader
Location: Port Sunlight Research Lab (very occasional travel to India or Italy may be required))

The Future Chassis Leader will lead the identification and development of the next generation of oral care chassis, ensuring the creation of innovative formulations that enhance sensory experiences and promote sustainability.
The ideal candidate must have a scientific background in physical sciences relevant to formulation and processing and should have experience in oral care, with a proven record of successful innovation identification and program management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and develop groundbreaking chassis (formulation) technologies for Oral Care products.
- Lead cross-functional R&D formulation and process teams with a focus on delivery, accountability, scientific rigor, and risk management.
- Collaborate across R&D teams to transfer innovative technology, formulations, and innovative processes to market.
- Partner with academics and suppliers to deliver innovative technologies, formulations, and process insights.
- Communicate complex scientific and technology concepts to R&D and marketing stakeholders.
- Manage a competitive IP portfolio.
- Lead for the use of experimental design, statistical and digital tools to improve decision-making.
ALL ABOUT YOU
- PhD in Chemistry, or a related physical sciences discipline.
- Very preferably, experience of technology identification and development for Oral Care products. Understanding of oral care formulation, processing principles, active benefits and regulatory landscape is preferred.
- Knowledge of colloid science, complex fluids and processing relevant to toothpastes.
- Examples of impactful collaborations with academia and supplier partners.
- Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to lead and work effectively in a cross functional and global team environment.
- Strong project management skills, able to hold cross-functional teams accountable to achieve project goals.
- Experience in IP management and supporting an IP portfolio.
- Record of external scientific publications and authority is preferred.

Recruitment Fraud
Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.
How is Unilever tackling this?
Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
