Senior R&D associate /Asst. Manager– HC R&D Formulation

Purpose of the Job:

The purpose of this job is to support UI Home Care R&D programme and lead H&H workstream aiming to take UI HC business to underserved markets, channels with core and underserved brands to meet the unserved needs of the consumers globally. This involves identifying the consumer segments, their needs and preferences, and developing/Deploying products that cater to them in a cost-effective and sustainable way.Leading NPD Innovations, Cost Optimization & sourcing resilience projects.

Key Responsibilities

The job will support all the R&D interventions for product development & regulatory compliance for home care category. The role will be seated in the HC BG board and play an active role in driving the strategy for UI HC alongside the other HC cross functional leads.

The job also requires collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as supply chain, finance, quality, and R&D, to ensure smooth execution of the innovation pipeline and market delivery.

·Drive and Deliver, H&H Innovation roadmap working with the BG marketing

·Lead NPD projects for home care, partnering with the key business stakeholders in SC, quality, procurement, SC finance, BU teams and CM’s.

·Other Key R&D deliverables – R&D home care strategy, trend analysis, OTIF delivery of innovations, 5S, new claims. 

·Drive the regulatory assessment in close interaction with UI RA and PSO. Work with marketing people to ensure label/artwork compliance. 

·Develop savings ideas in close working with categories and implement these within agreed R&D framework

·Leverage category knowledge, demo, KBS toolkit for adaptation in UI  

·Close collaboration with BG and BU team to align the mixes and to get the understanding for deployment.

·Ensure regulatory changes implementation across UI specific mixes and Sourcing unit as per global mandates.

·Drive rigor, risk assessment & mitigation and safety during projects delivery.

·Responsible for project execution in line with the best practices; Manage expectations of key stakeholders by providing regular feedback on project progress.

Experience Required:

·Minimum 5-6 years of relevant R&D experience in BG/BU R&D teams. 

·Home care experience is preferred

·Having established delivery of complex and Multiple projects desirable.

·Having adaptability, calculated risk taking appetite and quick decision making

·Having working knowledge on majority of the Unilever digital tools will be add advantage.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

·Post Graduate – Msc, Chemistry, B.tech Chemical engg

·Project management skills and good stakeholder management 

·Good Verbal/written Communication skills 

·Dealing with people from multicultural backgrounds.

·Multi tasking ability

·Ability to work independently with Cross-functional team members

·Travelling will be required 

·A person with strong business understanding will be preferred
