Seventh Generation accounts for over 90% of the North American Home Care Business and is exceeding growth expectations, aiming to become a €500M business and double its reach by 2030. We seek an experienced Chief Marketing Officer to oversee marketing for Home Care North America, including Seventh Generation, The Laundress and Unilever International.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
This role provides an incredible opportunity for a seasoned and strong point-of-view Marketer to drive a multi-year business growth strategy through the leadership of both the innovation and demand creation teams. As the CMO for Home Care North America, you will be responsible for future brand growth strategy, innovation plans, as well as in-year marketing led demand creation for the US – Seventh Generation & The Laundress. This role reports directly to the General Manager, Home Care North America.


BIG DELIVERABLES:

  • Deliver a bold consumer centric & innovative marketing strategy that recruits new users, delivers breakout growth, expands the mission and drives market share gain(s), with an integrated approach to build brand and mission love.
  • Deeply understand consumer insights & behavior, data, and the competitive landscape to be able to anticipate consumer needs and design programs and messaging that resonate and connect authentically.
  • Manage the P&L and build a well-thought-out budget. Adapt and optimize in support of profit targets and ROI, with constant optimization.
  • Understand the media landscape and think forward for future media models that can enable a competitive advantage for Seventh Generation and Home Care North America.
  • Lead and oversee all functions and team members within Marketing, ensuring teams collaborate effectively in support of flawless and integrated execution. Mentor and develop team members.
  • Partner and work together with Customer Development & Ecommerce teams to ensure Marketing and Brand vision is executed cohesively across channels, content and touchpoints.
  • Partner with R&D and CMI to develop product innovation and a strategic product plan based on consumer insights, market trends, competitive landscape, assortment gaps and new category opportunities.
  • Collaborate with and lead agencies and partners to provide comprehensive marketing expertise, thought leadership, and actionable recommendations across the entirety of the consumer journey and marketing funnel.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders and leaders to learn, share best practices and the ability to work successfully in a matrix organization, build and collaborate.
  • Build a play to win culture within the Home Care North America marketing team – one where team members grow, perform, are motivated and thrive. Dare and have the courage to lead with confidence for impact.
  • As a member of the Leadership Team, contribute to the overall Seventh Generation and Home Care NA business planning, culture, mission and decision making.


EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7-10 years of marketing experience with increasing responsibility in innovation and demand creation.
  • A demonstrated track record of progressive leadership in CPG, delivering brand growth and social impact
  • Superior leadership, passion for high performance, and desire to be a talent catalyst. Track record of being an active participant in the culture and mission.
  • Previous leadership of social-first teams and marketing strategies
  • Experience leading impactful content creation across internal and agency teams to develop impactful brand communication, connecting the brand to culture, driving earned reach and improved ROI.
  • Expert analytical and quantitative skills. Must have the ability to analyze and extrapolate meaning from data, translating it into insights and actionable plans.
  • Senior leadership and influence across functional reporting lines and galvanizing teams across functions to deliver innovation and brand strategies

  • Ability to both influence up for impact while rolling up your sleeves and co-creating, working and teaching a team – this role has 5 people direct reports into Brand, with many more x-functional partners looking to the Head of Brand for leadership.
  • Drive accountability, both personally and across teams, in a way that inspires and creates excitement
  • Ability to be based in Vermont, with travel up to 25%

Pay: The pay range for this position is $221,100 to $386,925.Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs. 

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible. 

Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
