Job Title: Site SHE Manager

Function: Supply Chain

Location: Kalurghat Factory, Chittagong, Bangladesh

Work Level: WL1C

Job Purpose:
The Site SHE Manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end Safety, Health, Environment, and Security (SHE&S) agenda at the site. This includes conducting risk assessments, safety audits, hazard reporting, and incident investigations, while supporting the implementation of safety-related projects. The role ensures compliance with Unilever’s Framework and Functional Standards, drives continuous improvement in SHE performance, and supports global and local initiatives aligned with the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan. The manager also builds SHE capabilities across the organization and fosters external partnerships to integrate best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Compliance & Risk Governance

  • Champion the implementation of SHE & Security systems in line with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and Unilever’s Framework Standards.
  • Ensure robust incident management, risk assessments, and hazardous work controls to proactively mitigate risks.
  • Maintain full legal compliance and readiness for internal and external audits across safety, health, and environmental domains.

Drive Performance Through Data & Insights

  • Monitor and analyze SHE KPIs, safety observations, and incident trends to drive data-informed decisions.
  • Deliver timely, actionable daily, weekly reports and ensure alignment with SPR requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering to optimize ETP operations and environmental performance metrics as per EPR requirements.

Build Capability & Culture

  • Embed a safety-first mindset through targeted training for employees, contractors, and leadership with Lead behavioral safety programs (e.g., BeSafE)
  • Energize the site through quarterly engagement campaigns and annual events like Safety Week and Environment Day.
  • Ensure clear, consistent, and timely communication of SHE priorities, performance, and initiatives across all levels of the organization.

 Accelerate Continuous Improvement & Sustainability

  • Lead site-level execution of global and cluster SHE initiatives, integrating best-in-class practices.
  • Facilitate Safety Subcommittees to deliver strategic projects and master plans on time.
  • Champion sustainability goals—driving waste reduction, water stewardship, and energy efficiency aligned with the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan (USLP)/Growth Action Plan (GAP)

Enable Strategic Collaboration & Governance

  • Conduct structured SHE & Security reviews with cross-functional leadership.
  • Activate USHEC governance and ensure transparent progress tracking.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on critical SHE matters, guiding the site toward operational excellence.

Experiences & Qualifications:

  • 5+ Years of experience in Safety, Health & Environment, manufacturing
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
