Business Context and Main Purpose of the Job.
The SHE Supervisor will provide the support to Site Safety Manager to ensure compliance of safety management system with Unilever SHE standards and local laws and regulations. The purpose of this role is to embed change, improve assigned area’s safety, health and environment culture, performance and partnership; and provide coaching to assigned BUs & Areas leadership team aligned to the organizational vision and plan.
The SHE Supervisor is responsible for managing all compliance and improvement
activities in SHE to achieve SHE excellence and drive the Zero harm at manufacturing sites.
Main Responsibilities.
• Deploy and ensure that the effective deployment of global/cluster SHE strategy, policy and SHE standards in the area to achieve excellent sustainable results.
• Provide methodology and co-ordinate with function and to conduct Risk Assessment and develop/implement the risk mitigation action plan
• Monitors and evaluates SHE risks of operations, including change management, ensuring continuous improvement of the SHE program to make it leaner and more efficient.
- Sets and monitors goals/objectives/assignments, provides adequate coaching/counseling for both Unilever and contractor employees.
- Co-ordinate with Environment pillar for environmental aspect and impact assessment and ensure impact mitigation and control area in place.
- Support environmental projects implementation e.g. reduce, and or improve the efficiency of consumption of energy, water, CO2 emission and waste generation.
- Lead UMS safety pillar to align with function/plant UMS target.
- Monitor legal compliance and ensure the Area meets all local/national regulatory requirements and Unilever standards, provide advice on national SHE legislation requirements & implement relevant procedures and policies
- Co-ordinate with plant/function for incident report and investigation, follow-up action plan and horizontal deployment.
- Enhance the SHE Culture and promote safety behavior observation.
- Work closely with Occupational Health personnel to identify the similar exposure group and mitigate risks which may lead to occupational ill
health. - Prepare and consult emergency preparedness and response plan and conduct the drill based on the potential scenario that can cause the emergency incident.
- Assist the Site SHE manager to develop the internal BCP, Crisis committees and safety committee; support the site SHE manager in leading serious incident investigation and analysis.
- Establish and maintain the SHE management system, process and procedure as required.
- Establish the SHE Communication plan, the training need and training plan based on the risk and other requirements e.g. Unilever SHE std., Local regulations etc.
- Develop the internal SHE inspection and audit program and the improvement action plan and Executes the Global Audit program with active participation in system and technical audits; Ensures timely corrective actions are taken when SHE hazards are identified.
- Defines effective system for evaluating, qualifying and measuring the performance of Contractor, Suppliers of products and services for Safety risk.
- Collaborates on definition of SHE requirements in supplier contracts, managers contractors and evaluation of their performance.
- Enhance the AI & Digital to support SHE to address the potential risk and take the risk mitigation action plan.
- In charge to develop digital platform for safety data. Consolidate and co-ordinate with safety team to collect and analyze safety data.
Required:
- 5-10 yrs relevant knowledge gained through on-the-job learning, especially in
- the areas of SHE systems management, Occupational health and safety, Quality or Production.
- Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
- The ability to establish and build on working relationships effectively across all levels of the organization from site director/manager,frontline employees.
- Highly effective communication skills (both oral and written) at all levels including the ability to present information to a range of audiences.
- Proven ability to manage challenging conversations and situations, Influencing skills.
- Good observation and auditing skills.
- Strong working knowledge of national and state safety, and environment legislation.
- Excellent computer and literacy skills.
- Good communication in English.
Desired:
- Familiar with relevant Vietnam Standards relating to a Manufacturing Facility. (eg. Confined Spaces, Working at Heights, Management of Contractors,
- Electrical Standards, Machine safety, Chemical safety, Labor and safety working environment, Fire- fighting etc).
- The ability to be able to work with a high degree of autonomy.
- The ability to use data to determine trends and action plans.
- Experience with Manufacturing Workforces.
