JOB PURPOSE:
The Import/export Compliance Associate Manager is responsible for overseeing the import/export operations of finished ice cream goods into North America, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This role is crucial in managing the flow of finished products at the International Border to -US border and from overseas sources, coordinating closely with Customs Brokers and Logistics Teams to facilitate timely and efficient customs clearance. By leveraging the capabilities of our planning, transportation, and warehousing teams, the Import/export Compliance Specialist ensures the seamless movement of ice cream products across borders.
The Import/export Compliance Associate Manager collaborates with finance, operations, and logistics teams to effectively utilize Free-Trade Agreements and import/export quotas to minimize duty expenses while maintaining compliance with local regulations. The position also involves coordinating with various departments, including manufacturing, customer service, transportation, and planning, to support the import/export process, manage Import/export Permit applications, and identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• HTS Code and Compliance Expert: Ensure that import/export operations are properly classified in accordance with regulations to facilitate seamless border crossings.
• Process Coordinator: Collaborate with Customs Brokers and Logistics Teams to ensure efficient customs clearance.
• Strategic Collaborator: Work with finance, operations, and logistics teams to maximize the benefits of Free-Trade Agreements and import/export quotas.
• Documentation Specialist: Manage timely Import/export Permit applications and identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
• Compliance Evaluator: Continuously monitor import/exports and exports to identify process gaps and make swift, beneficial decisions.
• Leadership Role: Provide direction to third-party suppliers and ensure clear, consistent documentation and communication.
• Team Integrator: Bridge the needs of various departments to maintain synchronization within the value chain.
• Supportive Colleague: Contribute to both the North American Supply Chain and the larger Unilever Global Supply Chain.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
• Expertise in Trade Compliance and Import/export Regulations
• Experience with Free-Trade Agreements and Import/export Quotas
• Ability to manage Import/export Permit applications across different government websites
• Experience in working with Customs Brokers and Logistics Teams
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in International Trade
• Proficient in handling free-trade agreements and import/export quotas
• Excellent organizational and coordination capabilities
• Competent in managing import/export permit applications through various government portals
• Skilled at identifying process enhancements and cost-saving opportunities
• Experienced in collaborating with customs brokers and logistics teams
SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s in Trade Compliance, Supply Chain Logistics, International Business, or Commerce
- Proficient in SAP and Excel
- Certified Customs Specialist or equivalent
- Strong bilingual (Spanish and English) communication skills
- Capable of handling large data sets
LEADERSHIP:
- Ability to influence and ensure accountability
- Clear explanation of complex topics for various audiences
- Experience managing 3rd party relationships

As publicly announced, Unilever will separate its Ice Cream business which is expected by the end of 2025. This role will transfer to the new Ice Cream company.

Pay: The pay range for this position is $86,080 to $129,120. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
