R&D Manager, Yasso

Summary of Role

Founded in Boston in 2009, Yasso is a pioneer in convenient frozen snacks, offering a high quality range of low-calorie yet indulgent products. Yasso will join the other premium brands in our North America portfolio including Ben & Jerry’s, Magnum and Talenti. Yasso’s products respond to the growing demand in North America for on-the-go, healthier and indulgent frozen snacks.

This is an exciting new role to join the Ice Cream team to lead or newest brand! Reporting into the Associate Director R&D NA, this person will be tasked with delivering the R&D program for Yasso. This includes continuing integration of recipes and processes into UL systems, compliance and regulatory checks, claims assessments, innovation, ingredient harmonization and fuel for growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead the ingredient and recipe integration workstream for Yasso ingredients into UL systems (PLM)
• Lead regulatory and compliance assessments for all Yasso products along with claim substantiation
• Lead and develop the ingredient harmonization and fuel for growth roadmap for Yasso
• Support the insourcing of skus into UL IC factories
• Lead 2025+ innovation funnel development
• Line management of WL1 scientist role supporting the Yasso R&D program

Requirements & Qualifications

• A deep knowledge of and passion for product design and creative product development
• Understanding of scale-up and operational implementation
• Excellent communication and project management skills
• Time management and priority setting
• A collaborative mindset: the success of this integration requires strong collaboration across UL IC teams as well as Yasso CMs
• Professional networking and stakeholder management, external focus
• Bachelor of Science in food science, engineering or equivalent degree.
• Relevant experience in Ice cream development is desirable
• Ability to present information to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Working knowledge in specification creation, approval and costing.

Travel required Y 10%

Pay: The pay range for this position is $98,300 to $147,500. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible. Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
