Background & Purpose of the Job:

Our customers range from restaurants and hotels through to workplaces, schools, and caterers – as well as the wholesalers and Cash & Carries who service the foodservice industry.

As an Associate Finance Manager (AFM) partnering the marketing organization, the candidate will be a key decision maker in the Portfolio and Customer Marketing process of UFS. Responsible for managing all of the Brand & Marketing spends, the position plays a critical role in prioritizing our Portfolio management decisions. Ensuring that the investments made to develop our markets are maximizing our returns on investment by maximizing market share and the efficiency of our Brand Marketing Investments. This role offers an attractive mix of leadership, strategic and operational experience. Key responsibilities include:

  • E2E responsibility of managing Brand & Marketing spends for UFS North America (including forecasting, accruals, and month-end close)
  • Provide investment decision support to Marketing leadership, providing the business clarity needed to understand the effectiveness of our market development activities. For example, Innovation launch and Marketing Campaign activations.
  • Lead creation of Innovation Business Cases and partner Marketing, Sales, and Supply team in conducting steps of launching new products
  • Support and supervise Marketing investment process with “Best in Class” governance.
  • Support the R&D and SC Innovation Planning teams to ensure that our product development business cases are appropriate costed and reflective of our Market Realities.
  • Partner with the Finance FP&A function to manage forecast accuracy and financial discipline to ensure delivery of our plan vs targets.
  • Conduct detailed profitability analysis aimed at improving sales contribution through optimized investment levels and improved product mix.
  • Improve overall financial acumen of Marketing Category Leaders in the channel through training on key subjects including ROI, and Channel profitability.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or related area preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience. Experience in Finance business partnering preferred
  • Experience in CPG or food service industry preferred
  • High analytical power coupled with strategic orientation
  • Must have the ability to tackle complex situations, evaluate alternative courses of action, and provide fact-based solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects / processes simultaneously.
  • Strong communication, and organizational skills
