Background & Purpose of the Job
The Associate Finance Manager in the Foods Supply Chain Finance Team will play a crucial role in driving finance partnerships with Foods Procurement across both Raw, Pack and third-party manufacturing networks. Cost Transformation, Material Forecasting, and Month-End Close excellence will be key focus points of the agenda, with this role being the key custodian of the Material Savings agenda. In North America Foods, Materials spend (Soybean Oil, Eggs, Plastics) is our largest and most dynamic area of spend type in the organization, this position will have end-to-end Finance ownership of it, along with being the direct finance partner to the material buyers' team. This is a highly visible role, allowing for quick impact right away.
Foods Procurement delivers a significant amount of savings to the business, and we have a very ambitious plan for the next 3 years. As Finance, we need to ensure that our business partners have full visibility into savings agenda, inflation headwinds, sourcing decisions and ultimately understanding the current delivery and future risks and opportunities.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Business Partnering & Cost Management – Responsible for partnering the Foods Procurement organization in providing analysis & support on decision making. The role drives management of the annual Material Cost spend of €500m+.
- Forecast and Actuals – responsible for reconciliation of monthly material results (Net Material Inflation), monthly forecast updates including a deeper forecast update on Procurement Cycles (Inflation updates), providing risk assessment and quality insights to in month delivery and forward forecast. Understand impacts from key material movements to guide business decision making.
- Monthly Results Reviews – Responsible for leading monthly results review with Foods Procurement, giving analysis & insights to procurement function on how results are landing & potential R&O. Monthly miscellaneous budget reviews with Procurement & 3PM Operations teams driving cost control & budget management on miscellaneous spend.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or CPA strongly preferred
- Minimum three years of relevant work experience
- Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly communicate results and implications of analysis
- Experience communicating financial acumen effectively including finance and non-finance.
- Ability to handle and work under pressure and to tight deadlines, strong bias for action, ability to work with remote teams
- Strong technical acumen and attention to detail.
- Experience in PBCS/AFO/PowerBI is strongly preferred.
- Strong Team Player. Enjoys working in a collaborative team environment.
- The ideal candidate is required to see the big picture while being capable of drilling down to the details to drive value-focused actions as well as resolving operational issues. Strong analytical skills, good stakeholder management and clear communication are key to succeed in this role.

Pay: The pay range for this position is $86,080 to $129,120. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
