It is Unilever’s in-house centre of business partnering and operational excellence in the area of finance services, supply chain, customs, procurement, integrated planning and performance delivery. There are 300 people in Katowice Hub. 

The modern Katowice Hub office, whose interiors were designed according to the principles of sustainable development, is located in the city centre of Katowice, Poland.  
We are working in the hybrid way to use the time spent in the office to influence collaboration and straighten the team spirit, using special designed for this purpose office areas.   

CATEGORY/FUNCTION INTRODUCTION

Customs Tariff Team is responsible for maintaining product classification for all imported materials and determining preferential origin of the goods The Tariff Customs Expert will be interacting with different stakeholders both internally and externally (customs authorities).

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

• represent Unilever as non-established company (on behalf) at customs & tax authorities

• first point of contact for customs & tax authorities for customs tariffs and classification matters

• check and control customs declarations from a legal and compliance perspective (audit proof) 

• supporting customs audits in tariffs and classification

• place administrational appeals and / or report to customs & tax authorities 

• support business as in-house consultancy on trade compliance

• complete product classification for R&P and Finished Goods

• maintain preferential origin for R&P and Finished Goods

• leading projects related to SAP GTS development

• manage customs tariffs and supply chain projects

• manage reclaims of customs duties

• controlling & reporting of tariffs and classification

• setting up customs instructions for customs brokers in terms of tariffs and classification

• coordination, supervision, and support of customs tariffs related projects as indirect customs representative of UEBV 

• deliver customs tariffs trainings and tariffs & classification advises to the business

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Experiences & Qualifications

• Min. 3 years working on customs affairs, indirect tax, export and import operations in international organization  

• Excellent knowledge and expertise in customs procedures (e.g. import, export, bonded warehouse)

• Customs classification of raw & packaging materials and finished goods 

• International trade agreements (Preferential Treatment) 

• Local and international customs & tax law

• Background in supply chain, supply management, logistics, planning or procurement 

Skills

• MS office (Excel, Power Point)

• fluent English, other languages as advantage
