Job Purpose
We are looking for a Finance & Risk Accountant who will be part of the ANZ Controlling team, reports directly to the ANZ Financial Controller, open door to National Finance Director (NFD) and a strong collaboration with the Service Hub in Region and Global. This role is responsible for ensuring the financial reporting accuracy and end-to-end effectiveness of our controls and risk management in ANZ.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure accounting transactions are recorded in compliance with Unilever accounting standard and local legislation including but not limited to fixed assets, payroll and lease contracts.
- Drive on time in full General Ledger-related submission for month end close (MEC):
- Ensure all the journals are posted and approved as per Schedule of Authority and the relevant protocol/mandate.
- Ensure timely completion of monthly reconciliation, aging and bank recon review.
Promptly attend to any issues happened during MEC and collaborate with relevant team to understand the root cause and provide solution.
- Manage and ensure Balance Sheet hygiene including conducting periodic review and develop resolution/action plan if needed.
- Act as key contact for periodical External and Internal Audits:
- Fully attend and facilitate External Statutory Audit for audit related requirements including preparation of financial statements.
- Manage and co-ordinate the Internal Corporate Audit process, drive outcome/results on sample selection and control evidence.
- Own risk library and ensure it is updated, areas of weakness rectified and information feeds into the business risk assessment.
- Ensure global control framework is maintained throughout the organization with monitoring & reviewing plan. Manage the issues and implement remediation plans if necessary.
- Engage with business on controls awareness program and risk mitigation plan.
- Ensure access controls are relevant and in place for key systems.
- Own and maintain ANZ Schedule of Authority control: update for changes, engage with business and ensure systems reflect revised changes.
What you will need to succeed?
Passionate about financial accounting, compliance, risk & controls, with an ability of bringing it to life and changing non-finance behaviours.
Strong self-motivation, ability to work independently and “get things done” in a timely manner.
Quick process understanding and ability to transfer complex processes into key risk/control implications.
Outstanding stakeholder management to deliver the desired outcomes.
High ability to deal with ambiguity and delivering structural thinking in a changing process landscape.
Experience & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting (advanced degree a plus). CPA highly preferred.
5-8 years of experience in audit/assurance consulting experienceandin-house corporate accounting experience (FMCG / Manufacturing or similar industries preferred)
Knowledge in drafting the Financial Statements.
Experience with General Ledger function and the month-end/year-end close process.
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
Excellent communication skills, high attention to detail.
Critical thinking skills to improve process.
Experience with accounting system/software (SAP preferred).
