JOB PURPOSE

The LOP Manager leads planning processes in Brazil's logistics operations, translating S&OP volume definitions into warehouse capacity requirements and transport volumes across Unilever's network. They handle logistics discussions from BUs about S&OE, manage logistics performance by overseeing KPIs related to cost and service, and lead projects for digitalizing logistics planning and transformation based on Cost to Serve analysis. 

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

  • Develop, validate, and communicate the Short and Mid-Term Capacity Planning (STCP & MTCP) plans (monthly, quarterly and annually forecast), covering: Inbound load capacity planning, average and peak storage demand, box and pallet picking demand, segregated cargo shipment demand for Foods, HPC, and Aero, primary transport volume capacity by route and sales transport volume capacity by origin. 

  •  Coordinate with all BUs and regional logistics teams the development of Long-Term Capacity Plan (LTCP – 5-year horizon) to prepare the current logistics network to future needs in terms of capacity & capabilities. This includes the capacity assessment of DC based on UL expected volume growth and potential solutions required in case additional warehouse capacity is required such as verticalization, changes in layout, expansions, or even alternative locations / buildings. 

  •  Lead the operational drumbeat, including daily and weekly inbound forecasts by origin and destination, peak daily storage projections, load transfers between warehouses (peak control), load transfers between origins and destinations (inbound control), order turnaround analysis for FTS and distribution centers. 

  • Represent logistics on all 4 BUs S&OEs and lead the development of billing plans for each month, including the CPA curve for entry, allocation, formation, and invoicing as well as the translation of these plans into ambient logistics network, with actionable plans and proper risks management / communication. 

  • Be the gatekeeper of the logistics performance management process by leading the performance cell responsible for strategic logistics KPIs - Ensure daily KPI visibility and updates, communicating, setting targets, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives related to cost and service KPIs. 

  • Develop, maintain and improve & transform the logistics planning processes (digital ecosystem for logistics planning). 

  • Lead the Cost to Serve analysis for Brazil and with CX teams propose the changes required to improve costs and service to unilever customers throughout network changes (centralization / decentralization of customers or adjustments on current network), improvement on customization processes, new proposals of transportation models (FLT vs LTL vs rail vs cabotage) and Plant determination adjustments. 

  • Oversee the logistics savings pipeline and TBI for Brazil, ensuring continuous improvement & transformation projects are aligned with the net productivity agenda, enabling CPT reduction year on year. 

  • Coordinate inventory management in alignment with the Supply Planning team, focusing on excess inventory, SLOBs, and stock positioning across warehouses and external areas. 

Experiences & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree Completed;

  • Operation and/or consulting experiences in Logistics.

  •  Desirable understanding of logistics operations and capabilities:

    • Warehousing, transportation , last mile operations / e-commerce.

  • Expect to demonstrate experience on warehouse / transportation operation as well as on developing new business models for logistics transformational projects. 

  • Demonstrate understanding of business, technology and process implications as related to transport and warehouse operations.

  • Desirable knowledge in digitalization and automation capabilities. Orientation on benchmark studies and mapping of alternative solutions & technologies externally.

  • Advanced in English is required. Advanced in Spanish is nice to have.

  • Ability to be available on UL logistics main operations (Louveira, Vinhedo, Itupeva, Valinhos, Indaiatuba, Aguai and Pouso Alegre) as well as central office in São Paulo.
