Pay Range: $33.95 Per Hour – Paid Bi-Weekly

Background & Purpose of the Job: This position works independently to manage, operate and ensure timely effective coverage of the central Refrigeration system. The position also provides technical process support throughout the factory including assists the Mix Room, production floor and utility tasks. The ability to communicate effectively with all levels of plant personnel is significant within this position.

What You’ll Do:

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Operate and maintain all equipment associated with the Engineering Department including the ammonia engine room, boilers, pumps, air compressors, condensers, electrical systems, and electrical distribution centers.

  • Advanced Electrical and Mechanical aspects.

  • Troubleshoot PLC and electrical problems, making program changes as needed. 

  • Troubleshoot Process Instrumentation equipment.  

  • Complete and file all required Plant Safety Management (PSM) forms. 

  • Develop and follow established Hot Work permits, Pipe Break permits, Working at Heights permits, and PSM records as required.  

  • Develop and follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for safety, health, environment, Quality, and production related process. 

  • Develop and follow established Management of Change (MOC).  

  • Develop and follow established Process Hazardous Analysis (PHA).

  • Identify opportunities for productivity improvements, Focus Improvement (FI). 

  • Develop and follow established Automated Maintenance Management Systems (AMMS).

  • Develop, Coach, Train and follow established Preventative Maintenance (PM).

  • Perform LOTO on equipment.

  • Provide general engineering support through both Sikeston locations. 

  • Must be open to flexible working hours which includes days, night, weekends, and Holidays.

  • Ability to comply with all government agency regulations.

  • Help coordinate weekend maintenance functions including manufacturing and Facility Utilities.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Working Environment:

The working environment consists of office environment, Engine Room, Boiler Room, Facility Utilities, and the Factory Floor. The position may require an individual to stand, stoop, move equipment, bend, reach, lift for prolonged periods of time. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) includes safety glasses, hearing protection sanitary/anti-slip safety toe footwear, fall restraints, SCBA, Electrical Flash clothing, HAZWOPER and other PPE as required.  

What You’ll Need To Succeed:

Knowledge and skill requirements:

  • BS degree in an Engineering-related discipline preferred. 

  • Ammonia refrigeration experience is preferred. 

  • Pass required test for this position. 

  • Minimum of three (3) years of related experience.

  • Ability to interpret Process & Instrumentation drawings (P&ID), electrical schematics and equipment manuals as necessary to perform assigned duties. 

  • Ability to become HAZWOPER certified.  

  • Ability to work with and lead teams comprised of all personnel levels.
