Background & Purpose of the Job
The Project Engineer is critical to the development of our factories to World Class, which means zero defects, zero waste and zero losses and to lead the change management role on projects, ensuring all inputs are available. The work will be focused on future fitting a factory that is geared up for new innovations, VIP, product transfers, roll-outs, recipe changes, and line extensions.
Apply extensively the full range of Focused Improvement and Quality and EEM pillar methods and tools to counter losses identified in the areas of Safety, Quality, Cost Deployment, Customer Service and Logistics and optimize the cost for projects.
Who You Are & What You’ll Do
- Working directly with the line crews on a daily basis and also acts as the technical trainer for line teams and provides coaching in phenomena identification, root cause analysis and the establishment of counter-measures as well as involving them early on the projects
- Manages CAPEXES across projects related to Infrastructure, Automation, Growth, Savings, Environmental, and Process Improvement
- Able to manage aggressive timelines and deliver projects on time and within budget. Projects ranging from $50K to $5M.
- Action technical risk assessments for projects. Prepare and execute factory trials, including budgeting, report results and develop process manuals
- Supervise project startup and conduct relevant training for operators
- Manage and execute the validation of all process improvements and the establishment of revised basic conditions on the line
- A core deliverable is to eliminate losses and wastes and increase the stability of the line to support the transition of traditional line teams to semi-autonomous teams
- Eliminate Waste and Loss according to the WCM prioritization process using AM, PM, FI and QC pillar tools and methodologies
- Create Technical Standards to ensure process stability on the line
- Train line crews on technical standards and restoration of basic conditions (Stability sustainability)
- Identify and extend good practice to other lines
- Application and accuracy of MMP Code data
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Experiences & Qualifications
- Preferred Degree OR National Diploma in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering but not limited to these qualifications
- Must demonstrate a strong technical knowledge from previous practice with evidences of elimination wastes and losses from production lines
- Must possess strong engineering leadership credentials with a proven ability to manage significant projects
- Statistics and process control tools experience
- AM, PM, Quality, FI and EEM/EPM tools and processes experience
- Clearly understand operating principles and establish correct operating standards
- Manage stakeholders across projects and deliverables
- Manage multiple projects parallel
- Preferred Auto CAD background

Pay: The pay range for this position is $84,400 to $126,600. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
