Job Summary

The Payroll and Training Officer is responsible for accurate and timely processing of employee remuneration, ensuring regulatory compliance. This role will also facilitate and support the design of training programs to enhance the skills, compliance, knowledge and performance of our employees.

This position is a permanent part time 26 hour/week position.

Role Responsibilities:

Payroll

  • Accurately calculate and process employee remuneration in a timely manner to ensure employees are paid on schedule.

  • Provide accurate and timely payroll reports.

  • Partner with supervisors and team leaders to provide payroll support where required.

  • Update and manage employee information with Human Resources direction.

  • Address and resolve payroll-related enquiries from employees in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements and organisational policies and procedures, including the Tatura Enterprise Agreement (EA).

  • Accurately maintain the Payroll Standard Operating (SOP) Procedure.

  • Ensure conditions of employment within the EA are followed and updated.

  • Ensure the accuracy of employee leave balances.

  • Maintain accurate payroll records for auditing and compliance purposes.

  • Process new starters and employee terminations.

  • Report any payroll issues promptly to the HR Business Partner.

  • Collaborate with Finance and the Human Resources to reconcile and validate payroll data.

  • Support the Human Resources team as required.

Training

  • Build and maintain the training framework in BuildApp to meet the PD Pillar UMS Objectives for the site.

  • Assist with developing the site annual training schedule and budget.

  • Build strong partnerships with key stakeholders to deliver site training objectives.

  • Partner with site Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) to deliver internal training programs.

  • Drive the management of compliance training activities to be completed for the site, ensuring training is recorded and documented.

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments and feedback.

Does this sound like You?

Mandatory:

  • Payroll or finance experience.

  • Ability to interpret and apply Enterprise Agreements or Modern Awards.

  • Strong IT and data entry skills.

  • National Police Check.

Desirable:

  • Kronos time and attendance experience.

  • SAP experience.

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and/or prior training experience.

  • Payroll experience in a global organization.
