JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Sr Director – Loblaw/SDM PC and B&W, this position is responsible for the Hair and Skin creation, execution & communication of the customer plan, including trade investment management and application, that delivers consistent, competitive, profitable, and sustainable growth. Senior Key Account Managers work closely with and are supported by several cross functional teams including, Customer Operations/Strategy and Planning, Finance, Customer Service, Net Revenue Management, Category Management and Customer Analytics Associates to establish best-in-class practices and unlock opportunities to deliver against sales and profit targets.
WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
- Maximize sales results by applying effective sales/marketing strategies, effectively negotiating trade promotions and demonstrating effective budget management. This includes implementation of tactics that are developed through a shared planning process with fellow account teams, brand, trade marketing, supply chain and field sales, managing account spending efficiently and delivering targets within allocated budgets.
- Lead and participate in the development of the company's Annual Planning process for the designated trade segment (Hair and Skin) – including forecast ownership
- Lead and participate in the development of the shared Joint Business Plan with SDM Hair and Skin Category Director & SDM marketing team
- Manage the total customer interface ensuring on-going development and profitable growth for the designated account (SDM)
- Utilize/Optimize trade spending to support Unilever’s overall objectives and strategies within agreed parameters
- Formulate plans to obtain agreed listings, retail pricing, distribution, shelf positioning and retail inventory levels
- Evaluate customer tactics, plan implementation & recommendations to improve for the future
- Maintain excellent trade relations and customer support for our brands through effective execution of brand strategy in combination with a complete understanding of the customer’s unique needs and the marketplace condition
- Manage & coach one direct report (Account Coordinator)
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
Experiences & Qualifications
- Passion for high performance and creative problem-solving
- Strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Advanced level of computer skills (excel, presentation development, word processing)
- Proven leadership and strategic planning abilities combined with strong financial management and strong analytical skills are essential (Nielsen, Customer and Shopper data)
- Undergraduate Degree required
- Candidates should have a valid driver’s license
- Minimum 3 years of progressive previous account development experience and trade/consumer marketing experience within the mass merchandise, club, grocery or drug trade.
- Must reside within a commutable distance to Toronto
