UNILEVER IS LOOKING FOR A GLOBAL DATA ANALYST

Salary:  44-68 K gross per year depending on background and experience.

ABOUT DIGITAL  & DATA TEAM

The Global Nutrition R&D Digital & Data capability is the central team in Division R&D to enable and lead the digital transformation of our organisation. Our core expertise area and responsibility lie in providing the systems expertise and user solutions to drive data quality in our core ingredient and product specifications. Increasingly, we are also strengthening our capability in data engineering, visualisation, data analytics and data science to extract the maximum value from the data we have and utilize it to support the in-silico design agenda. The capability team is working closely together with many teams across Nutrition R&D, ranging from Regional Deploy Centre/Local Deploy teams on product specifications to Global Design Centre/Science & Technology/Capability teams on data science and models.

JOB PURPOSE

Within Nutrition R&D, Digital and Data Capability team we are looking for a Global Data Analyst. The key features of this role are to monitor the quality of data we have in our digital systems and utilize that data for creation of user-friendly solutions (e.g. reports, dashboards, tools, apps). These solutions will need to be maintained and evolve over time or will be one-off bespoke solutions for targeted queries from various business partners. In this role you will liaise with business partners in many Unilever functions to build the requirements for the front-end, collect the data, build the data model, and present the results to business users and to wider audiences.

You will be a member of the Digital & Data Capability team, which is a diverse team (age, experience, background, nationalities) driving Digital Transformation in Unilever Nutrition R&D.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

  • Data Collection from multiple sources including SAP PLM, R&D Datalake, existing Power BI datasets, and individual datasets provided by business partners.

  • Validating underlying data used by the division in the core data sources, and any bespoke datasets used in our reports. 

  • Lead E2E project delivery focused on data extraction, data transformation, dashboard/tool creation as well as drive tool adoption to facilitate strides towards becoming a data-driven organization.

  • Actively identify opportunities to develop/optimize solutions to drive our Data Analytics strategy with maximum business impact.

  • Liaising with the System Expertise & User Solutions data squads to ensure data quality in the core systems such that Nutrition data is complete with a clear aim that reporting becomes a routine process.

  • Develop comprehensive documentation capturing essential project details to re-build the data model and ensures a complete knowledge transfer.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals, facilitate effective communication, and address any concerns or issues promptly to achieve successful project outcomes.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Experiences & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or data science.

  • Experience and practice in data management, data quality verification, data visualization, and data integration.

  • Experience with data visualization and dashboard tools is a plus.

  • Balanced profile of functional business knowledge/understanding and data/analytics expertise: preferred experience in Nutrition R&D or Supply Chain domain.

Skills

  • Critical thinking and flexibility to work effectively around technical and business constraints.

  • Solid experience in data analysis, data visualization, data reporting using Power BI

  • end-to-end application development, and implementation of front-end (e.g., dashboards and web front-ends).

  • Applied experience in Visual Analytics Platforms like Microsoft Power BI.

  • Strong knowledge in designing efficient, robust, and automated data pipelines and ETL workflows.

  • SAP PLM: usage knowledge and expertise and associated data portals to extract data.

  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing requirements and priorities, while effectively collaborating with team members through regular sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure continuous delivery of high-quality, incremental value.

  • SAP PLM: understands data standards in building hierarchies and specification contents is a plus.

  • Experience using R or Python is desirable

  • Proficiency in SQL is highly desirable
